Now that's summer is here, the main question is: where to go? For those looking for a quick getaway and wants some beach feels, Batangas is the best option and just around 3 hours away from Manila, you'll find Aquaria Water Park, a beach resort in Calatagan.

Last week, we went on a different kind of trip as we head over to Aquaria Water Park in Calatagan, Batangas. I've been craving for beach for the last couple of weeks and I guess it's time for a quick break from the mountains. It's also a chance for me to take my new Supremo1 to the test (full review soon!).

Welcome Calatagan

Aquaria Water Park

We arrived in Calatagan around lunch time and right after entering Aquaria Water Park, we had our quick brunch. Entrance to the resort is Php 600/head on weekdays at Php 800/head during weekends.

We then headed to the beach front cabanas and set up our stuff. Rental fee is Php 1,200 and is inclusive of tables and chairs already. There are only 3 beach front cabanas right now so you may want to arrive early since it's a first come first serve basis.

Lunch by the Sea

Aquaria Water Park has restaurant facing the beach side so it's a nice way to have lunch. Bringing of food inside is allowed but there's a corkage fee of Php 100/head.

Jet Ski Baby!

One thing I love about Aquaria is that they offer a lot of water activities. Although most of them are not under the management and are only concessionaires, I still find it nice that you can try a lot of water sports. Since I'm the adventure kind of guy, I made sure that I get to try them all. We tried the Buzz Bump, Banana Boat and Jet Ski (jet ski is Php 3500/hr. I forgot the rest sorry :) ).

It was my first time to try Jet Skiing and it was so fun! It was just a different experience especially when you're in the middle of sea, going around 42kph. I don't know how to swim and the waves keep on causing the jet ski to sway every now and then putting the thrill to a different level. It's aso such a different feeling when you're going extremely fast and you cannot sea anything else except the sea.

Beach Bumming

After trying out different water activities, we had a quick rest and just enjoyed the beach life. The cabana was so cool and looks so classy.

You can also setup your own tent though I'm not sure how much is the pitching fee.

There's also a henna tattoo both in the area. (p.s. that's not me! haha)

One great thing about Aquaria is that the whole complex looks nice. The pool is not your typical rectangular one. They also have a slide and the cabanas looks so awesome. It will really give you that tropical beach vibe. And I just have to say, their bath house is suuuuper cool!
